Want the moistest, juiciest bird you have ever roasted this holiday season? Try this amazing brine recipe and see your friends and family swoon!

Turkey Brine Recipe


  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup organic sugar
  • 1 cup kosher salt
  • 3 Tablespoons black or pink pepper corns (or a combination of both)
  • 7 cloves garlic cut into slices
  • 2 whole onions quartered
  • 4 bay leaves
  • water to cover


  • Pour the boiling water into a large mixing bowl.
  • Add remaining brine ingredients, except bay leaves.
  • Stir to mix and dissolve sugar and salt.
  • Carefully place turkey in large bucket or cooler.
  • Pour brine mixture over turkey.
  • Cover turkey with cold water, so that it's completely submerged.
  • Toss in bay leaves to the brine and turkey.
  • Allow to sit for 24 hours.
  • Carefully drain and pat the turkey dry.
  • Roast as usual. (I prefer breast side DOWN)


This recipe can also be used for the moistest roasted chicken ever. Just cut the ingredients in half, and follow the rest of the recipe!
