Basic Dandelion Root Tea Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups water per serving
  • 4-5 tsp dried dandelion root per serving
  • 1 tsb honey, sugar or cream optional
  • cinnamon stick, ginger slice, or unsalted butter for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Place medium pot or saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add 4 to 5 tsp. of dried dandelion root to the pot.
  3. Gently roast root until browned and aromatic.

  4. Pour over 2 cups of water. Stir.

  5. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 30 minutes, depending on how strong you like it. I simmered for 30 minutes because I like it strong!

  6. Remove from heat, and strain.

  7. Pour into mug., garnish and sweeten (if desired).
